Walnut Street Pump Station 9 Replacement January 9, 2026 We recently hit a big milestone on the Pump Station 9 Replacement project in downtown Wilmington. After months of deep excavation and shoring work, we finally set the precast wet well structure. Getting this in the ground marked the end of the messiest phase of the job—and the beginning of work …
Oxford Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades
Oxford Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades December 12, 2025 We recently wrapped up a big one in Oxford and took a minute to enjoy a well-earned lunch with the crew. The team at Carolina Civilworks, along with our trade partners, put in a ton of hard work to bring this wastewater treatment plant upgrade across the finish line. The project included …
Eno River LS & Lick Creek LS Valve Replacement
The bypass setup at Eno River Lift Station has been one of the biggest parts of this job—and for good reason. That station handles a huge portion of Durham’s flow, with pumps ranging from 250 to 500 horsepower. The bypass was built to handle the highest flows ever recorded there.
Western North Ridge Stormwater Project
Western North Ridge Stormwater Project October 31, 2025 The Western North Ridge project is part of the ongoing stormwater improvements within the North Ridge Drainage Basin. This area, in and around North Ridge Country Club, has dealt with long-standing drainage issues, and this marks the third major project Carolina Civilworks has completed in the neighborhood. Our work included significant stormwater …
Tryon Road Force Main Replacement
Carolina Civilworks was called in by the City of Raleigh to perform an emergency repair on a failed 6-inch force main along Tryon Road. The failure required immediate response to prevent service disruption and protect the surrounding community.
Eno River & Lick Creek Lift Station Valve Replacements
For the City of Durham, our crew took on a unique job at the Lick Creek Sewage Pump Station: removing and replacing multiple valves (6” up to 16”). While the city supplied the valves, we handled the rest—bypass pumping with five 12” diesel-driven pumps, wet well cleaning, dewatering, sludge removal, and even concrete inspections inside the wet well.
E53 Pleasant Plains Elementary School
Carolina Civilworks is working with Clancy & Theys on the new Pleasant Plains Elementary School for Wake County Public Schools. Our scope includes all on-site water and sewer, along with a 20-inch off-site water line extension.
We’re currently installing 620 LF of 20-inch DIP through an existing 36-inch steel casing beneath I-540. The casing was previously installed, so instead of a traditional bore-and-jack, our boring subcontractor, Razorback Boring, is treating it like a live bore—excavating the bore pit, setting up the equipment, and pushing the carrier pipe through the casing.
Atkins and Canterbury Water Line Replacement
Have you driven down Wade Avenue this week? If so, you’ve probably seen our crew out there hard at work.
We’re wrapping up a big one for Raleigh Water—officially called the Atkins and Canterbury Water Line Replacement. It’s a full water and sewer upgrade running down Canterbury Road, starting all the way from Eton.
Walnut Street Pump Station 9 Replacement
We’re in downtown Wilmington working with CFPUA on a full replacement of Pump Station 9, one of the older stations in their system—pushing almost 60 years. It’s right on the Cape Fear River and handles a big chunk of downtown’s sewer flow, so taking it offline isn’t an option.
Big Branch One Pump Station
The blasting’s done at BB1, and now we’re onto the next phase: shoring. Right now, we’re installing soil nails to support the 30+ foot excavation for the new pump station.
Oxford Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements Project
We’re about 80% of the way through improvements at the Oxford Wastewater Treatment Plant, where Carolina Civilworks is working directly with the City of Oxford to deliver some serious upgrades.
Sanford Wastewater Treatment Plant Blower Upgrades
Carolina Civilworks partnered with the City of Sanford to upgrade critical infrastructure at their wastewater treatment facility. The scope included installation of two new owner-provided blowers and decommissioning of two existing units. We also coordinated the startup process with the blower manufacturer to ensure seamless integration.
Big Branch One Pump Station
ast week marked the unofficial groundbreaking of Big Branch 1 PS — a new regional wastewater pump station that’s going to handle all the flow from the massive Veridea development in Apex, NC.
